Arthur W. Wentlandt, a partner at Mackenzie Hughes and member of the Firm's Executive Committee, joined the firm in 1979. Art served as Chair of the Firm's Executive Committee from 2003 through 2007 and in the position of Administrative Partner from 2001 through 2003. A trial lawyer, he helps the firm's clients make better business and personal decisions through his expertise in all aspects of personal injury and property damage litigation as well as claimant's employment-related claims. Handling both plaintiff and defense claims, Art has obtained million dollar-plus verdicts and settlements in highway design and products liability cases while also trying numerous defense cases involving instrumentalities such as complex manufacturing machinery and agricultural equipment. His claimant's employment-related practice has involved him in all aspects of workplace discrimination and harassment litigation and with the federal and state agencies, which oversee the civil rights regulatory process.

Art received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975 from Boston University. He then went on to study at Syracuse University College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctorate in 1979. He was admitted to the New York Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York in 1980. In 1984, he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit and in 1986, he was admitted to the U.S. District Court, Western District of New York.

Art is a member of the New York State, Onondaga County and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He serves as a Trustee of Cazenovia College, chairing that institution's Audit Committee and serving on the Executive and Strategic Planning Committees as well as the Committee on Trustees. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Elmcrest Children's Center, a residential facility for troubled children. He serves as a Vice-President of that board while chairing its Insurance Committee and serving on the Building and Grounds and Human Resources Committees.

Prior to attending law school, Art spent four years in the United States Coast Guard.
